Purpose
To provide an alternative learning environment that addresses the individual needs of at-risk or disengaged students and supports and celebrates the development and attainment of academic, personal and social skills and readiness for the workplace and/or postsecondary education through

- Model and support respect for others and for established policies and procedures.
- Provide a safe, caring, disciplined and drug-free environment.
- Provide opportunities for students to participate in the development and ongoing assessment of individualized academic, personal, social and work-related goals.
- Provide opportunities for students to develop academic, personal, social and work skills under the guidance of good adult role models.
- Provide high-quality, personalized instruction, services and support based on individualized goals and the unique history, aptitudes, needs and interests of each student.
- Provide opportunities for students to engage in decision-making processes related to school programs and activities.

TARGETED STUDENTS
The targeted at-risk populations for the Globe and Payson Education Centers include, but are not limited to, those listed below. Depending on circumstances, a student may attend the Globe or Payson Education Center for as little as a few days (short-term suspension from home school) or as long as desired to complete his/her specific educational needs and goals.
- Students in Grades 6-12, up to the age of twenty-two;
- Students who are transitioning from the Juvenile Detention Center;
- Students who are on probation and under the auspices of the Courts;
- Students who have been suspended or expelled from their home school;
- Students who are pregnant or parenting;
- Students who have dropped-out of the traditional school setting;
- Students who are at-risk of dropping out of the traditional school setting;
- Students who are at-risk of failing in the traditional school setting; and
- Students who self-select this non-traditional school setting for other reasons.
NUMBER OF STUDENTS
The Globe Education Center is comprised of two classrooms, each with the capacity to serve up to 20 students per session. Up to three sessions per day could be arranged to accommodate students’ schedules, although the site will open with one session daily and add more as need is warranted. With two classrooms, the maximum number of students that could be served at the Globe Education Center during three daily sessions is 120 at any given time.
The current location of the Payson Education Center can serve a maximum of 8 - 10 students per session. This center will also open with one daily session and add more as needed. The maximum number of students that could be served at the current Payson Education Center during three daily sessions is 24 – 30.
Dress Code
Students are expected to dress appropriately each school day. The type and style of dress is individual and personal; however, dress that is extreme and causes distracting, disruptive, or unsafe situations will be considered inappropriate and unacceptable behavior. The right to modify dress expectations as needed and when necessary is reserved by the staff. Students whose appearance is deemed by administration to be inappropriate will be dealt with under the guidelines listed below:
Wear Shirts at all times unless directed otherwise by the teacher (e.g. physical education activities)
Foot covering at all times
Do not wear
A hat inside the building
Anything that could be considered gang or satanic related
Clothing or apparel that could be considered obscene, vulgar, promoting alcohol, drugs, tobacco, or obscene language
A bandanna of any color, size, or shape
Clothing that bares the midriff - no skin can show between shirt and pants/skirt when standing or seated
Clothing with holes
Halter tops or two tank tops together
Spaghetti straps less than 2" wide
Tube tops
Crop tops
No chains - no clothing apparel with chains or straps
See through or revealing clothing
Tops that are too revealing
Short shorts/skirts etc.
Under garments as outer garments
Anything that reveals an under garment
Men's tank top undershirts as outer wear
No slippers or sleep wear
Do not have dangerous body piercing or studded apparel - body piercing is subject to administrative decision.
